Medical Marijuana Vending Machine!

Check this out!  Get your medical weed from a machine, here's my retirement plan!  The Orange County Register is reporting that medical marijuana can now be legally dispensed through a fully automated vending machine called the Autospense. The promotional video shows how easily this dispensary machine works with a medical marijuana card, a thumbprint scan and payment. AutoSpense’s founder, Joe DeRobbio of Dispense Labs, is quoted as saying “What goes in, what comes out, it’s documented and there’s no way to subvert that.” The Dispensary Store in Santa Ana, California is the first place to host one of these machines.

Autospense is a uniquely designed, high-tech automated dispensing system that exceeds industry standards. The software used is specifically designed to properly control transactions and manage inventory. This will significantly improve profitability, accountability, security and customer satisfaction.

After providing the proper documentation, the patient will be issued a pre-approved registration/membership card and have the opportunity to register in an optional finger print scanner system, which enables around-the-clock access to the Autospense machine. The member is granted access and walks into a well secured and camera monitored showroom.

But we are SubGeniuses, and X-Day is not a convention. IT IS AN ADVENTURE.

It might be brutal at times. CORRECTION: it WILL be brutal at times.

But those times are exactly what make the CONTRAST. They make the heights ever so much HIGHER. And, sometimes, two SubGeniuses get stuck under a borrowed tarp in a rainstorm, and fall in love, and get married, and have kids, and get a divorce. BUT THEY STILL COME BACK TO X-DAY.

I am so inspired by this!  Mine is going to much bigger than this one, but it's basically the same idea. 

Local artisans and craftspeople will design and convert one of these shipping containers into a livable and safe home. Because building materials are unavailable to the poor, the design and build will focus on using scrap and recycled materials. Also, all build techniques will be done in a manner that is easily replicable by individuals with little or no construction skills. The final product will be instructional videos for NGOs to build these homes locally, with local labor.

The former commercial diver has plundered the deep for over fifty years, bringing to the surface anything that glittered -- even gold.  In a shipping container near the water, Ray tends his museum of cannon, bottles, bells, swords, portholes and diving gear.

He still takes to the water in a 1900s diving suit.

The unknown world within our world

Here is a stunning time lapse of the world’s oceans from NASA.  When I look at this, it makes me wonder seriously about how much of our world is water – DEEP HUGE MASSES OF WATER!  I mean, there is so much of this planet we have not discovered.  What or who could be living down under there?

It makes you really think about what kind of undiscovered sea life there is?  I bet there are deep underwater worlds fully inhabited by unknown beings.  The sea is a great world within a world.  It holds many deep secrets.  There have many sightings of USO's, (Unidentified Submerged Objects) coming out and going into the sea.  ~ Even more fascinating stories and evidence here.

I have been haunted throughout my life of dreams of a life where I lived under water.  The entire world as I knew it was under the sea.  It was home.  I don’t know where it was, but I have found myself startled awake in the night, in full memory, longing to go home – HOME Into the GREAT DEEP.  They feel so real.  I have a great love, lust and respect for Poseidon, Lord of the Sea.  Did you see this documentary I posted a while back? Maybe I am a reincarnated Blowfish?

It is a true comforting feeling for me to live close to the ocean surf.  Maybe one day I will learn why.

There's gonna be some shaking going on!  Crater south of Bend soon could become a bit more active, now that the BLM has approved a closely watched geothermal test project.

"There is potential of small seismic events," said BLM spokeswoman Lisa Clark said Monday. "We feel that people in the area might feel a little rumbling, but it will probably feel like a piece of heavy equipment driving by."

Davenport-Newberry Holdings and AltaRock plan to test a new technology, Engineered Geothermal Systems. The companies say they plan to use and existing geothermal well on the western side of the volcano.

The companies also plan to use a process called hydro-shearing, where they pump water 6,000-10,000 feet below the surface of the Earth.

Unlike fracking, a controversial process where rock is cracked open by high water pressure, the two companies say they plan to use existing cracks and widen them slightly, using far less pressure than the one used to extract natural gas from underground.

"We're doing a process called hydro-shearing," said Clark, "We will inject water into existing fractures and just use that water to widen them a little bit, it is definitely a different process."

BLM said the plans are just for a temporary test site over the next two years.  "At this point, it is a test site," said Clark, "However, it could be used as a model for other sites around the country, or perhaps even future opportunities in the Newberry area.""

I just fell off my chair laughing at this article written by Lindy West of JEZEBEL. com.  I had to share this one:

In this commercial for an Indian product called Clean and Dry Intimate Wash, a (very light-skinned) couple sits down for what would have been a peaceful cup of morning coffee—if the woman's disgusting brown vagina hadn't ruined everything! 

The dude can't even bring himself look at her. He can't look at his coffee either, because it only reminds him of his wife's dripping, coffee-brown hole! Fortunately, the quick-thinking woman takes a shower, scrubbing her swarthy snatch with Clean and Dry Intimate Wash ("Freshness + Fairness"). And poof! Her vadge comes out blinding white like a downy baby lamb (and NOT THE GROSS BLACK KIND) and her husband—whose penis, I can only assume, is literally a light saber—is all, "Hey, lady! Cancel them divorce papers and LET'S BONE."

Needless to say, certain citizens are troubled by this product—which, in addition to just being fucking insane, brings up painful issues about the hierarchy of skin tone within the Indian community. As if it isn't bad enough that darker-skinned people are encouraged to stay out of the sun and invest in skin-bleaching products like Fair & Lovely, and that white actresses are being imported to play Indian people in Bollywood movies, now everyone has to be insecure about the fact that their vaginas happen to be the color that vaginas are??? Splendid! God, I was just saying the other day that my misogyny didn't have enough racism in it.

So what are the pro-vadge-bleaching people thinking? Here's a hilarious explanation from a male ad exec:

It is hard to deny that fairness creams often get social commentators and activists all worked up. What they should do is take a deep breath and think again. Lipstick is used to make your lips redder, fairness cream is used to make you fairer-so what's the problem? See? It makes perfect sense. We just want our vaginas to reflect more light—is that so wrong? I mean, WHAT IF MY CAR BREAKS DOWN AT NIGHT AND I DON'T HAVE A REFLECTIVE ENOUGH VAGINA? Really, the ultimate one-vagina-to-rule-them-all would glow in the dark like one of those deep-sea fishes. I need my vagina to attract more krill so my husband will fuck me again! (My husband is a whale.)

Basically the idea is to get as far away as possible from any color that vaginas actually come in. Because that's what's at the heart of this type of thinking—the perfect vagina would be something that's not a vagina at all.

34th Annual St. Stupid's Day 2012

It was a crystal clear morning, and after a night of horizontal rain from the storm that had just passed, the birds were chirping extra cheerfully, a perfect day for the 34th Annual St. Stupid’s Day parade in San Francisco, CA. St. Stupid’s Day is organized by Bishop Joey, seminal and secular head of the FCLL (First Church of the Last Laugh) the world’s fastest growing snack religion, 150% less dogma (it's a lite religion) and happens on one holy day a year April 1st.

This year it fell on Palm Sunday, and I drove my Squirly Whirly art car downtown and joined a hundred very silly bay area stooges dressed in the stupidest outfits they could muster. Over the years, I have relied on my trusty duct tape nun costume and spread the importance of supporting the “Coalition for Silly Nun-Sense”. “I’m the nun with a bad habit.” 2010 Photo here:

I found a great parking spot right on the main street. I and my art car were swarmed by tourists before I could even get out of the car. Think about it, seeing a Nun drive a car? RARE. Seeing a Nun get out of car covered in garden ornament squirrels & toy pinwheels parked in front of a Catholic church on Palm Sunday? PRICELESS.

At high noon we gathered at the Trans America building or (The big pointy building in San Francisco, as the pamphlet read.) As seen in my stupid iPhone video here: 

A woman wearing flippers walked up to me and stuck a small round sticker over my left eye and said, “There, I dotted your eye,” and then walked away. A man who must have been close to his 80’s walked by holding a sign that read, “Don’t read this sign,” then he said with a smile, “Remember, don't forget......no it's ...Don't forget, remember....Or is it Remember, don't forget...Hmmm? I forgot,” and as we paraded down Columbus Street, while whoopee whistles and the drum core rhythm section lead the way, numerous goofy people kept shouting, “You’re going the wrong way,” whenever we came to an intersection. 

I bumped into poet and art car artist Blake More, creator of Eartha Karr and  Gonzo author and fellow art car artist Rick Mc Kinney, creator and Captain of the famous “Lord Duke the Mighty, Mighty Mobile Museum” and art car artist Avril Hughes, creator the “Grooovalicious Purple Princess of Peace”. It was a glorious day for art cars, artists and the creative spirits. On the way up to the park, I even saw a rouge art car I had never seen before. New art car artists are popping up everywhere.

Celebrating the fool in all of us, it is a funny liberating experience it itself, but sharing it with that many hilarious folks of all ages, sizes, colors and marching up in the North Beach of San Francisco was a contagious glorious spectacle. 

It’s great to take at least one day out of the year and just let yourself play with stupid abandon. We ended up at the Joe DiMaggio Playground and gathered for 2 minute talent contest, s(n)ackreligious rituals and happenings. 

Wavy Gravy our dear and beloved icon of playfulness, usually joins us for the celebration, but he broke his leg a couple weeks ago, Bishop Joey was able to call him on his cell phone from the stage and we heard him over the sound system loud and clear bid us playful wishes. The huge crowd all said in unison back to him, “GET WELL WAVY!” It was great to share it with him, even if it was just over the phone. I hope he felt our love and buffoonery.

It has taken me a day to recover, but I feel like I extended my life by at least a year from the rich experience. My face and stomach still hurt from laughing all day and that much laughter is good for the soul. That is what driving an art car is like too, it keeps you young in all the best ways! If you ever get a chance to come to the San Francisco bay area, don’t miss this silly fun event because, THE CLOSER YOU GET THE NEARER YOU ARE.
